Google News, the global search engine, has added bitcoin, which was previously only available for gold and silver, to its list of currencies.

It adds the currency to its currency list in an update to its search engine on Monday.

The news comes as the cryptocurrency has been gaining traction in the United States.

In the past year, bitcoin has grown in popularity as investors look to diversify their investments.

The currency was initially developed in 2009 as an alternative to the U.S. dollar, but its use has been expanding since then.

The U.K.-based company has said it will continue to support bitcoin with new features and services.
